Lokalise starts a new chapter with a new CEO

Petr and I announced the following to everyone at Lokalise:
As we enter a new chapter at Lokalise, we can be incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far. Together with you, Lokalisers past and present, we’ve already helped thousands of customers build localized customer experiences and inclusive products that connect people in new ways.
Supporting our customers so they can break down language barriers is a truly exciting business to be in.
Within a few years of founding Lokalise, we were recognized as a pioneer and thought leader in our market and, despite being one of the youngest kids on the block, we’ve helped our customers push the boundaries of their localization efforts. We’re very grateful that great investors took notice and joined us on our adventure to create the most innovative translation management platform that customers have ever seen.
We pioneered design plugins, over-the-air updates, and multi-platform concepts, prompting established localization players to follow suit. With Lokalise AI, we are now pushing the boundaries of the industry again, changing localization in ways that we as founders couldn’t have dreamed of a year ago.
Our goal? To continue reinventing industry standards and make localization a core strategy for every company. We aim to embrace new trends and adapt to a shifting localization landscape to deliver the most innovative and user-friendly translation management platform. A platform that will surprise our customers and empower them to enter new markets and create inclusive customer experiences more efficiently and effectively than ever before.
It's essential that Lokalise has everything it needs to scale both faster and larger. That’s why, after 7 years leading Lokalise, Petr and I have decided to hand over the reins to a new CEO.
Starting next week, Sophie Krishnan will become CEO of Lokalise. Sophie’s leadership and personality are an excellent match for us. She also has an impressive track record of building scalable and disruptive businesses with global reach. Petr and I, the leadership team, and the Board have been spending time with Sophie and are already very excited to work with her.
While Petr and I will no longer be leading Lokalise, we’ll still be significantly involved and putting our skills to work for the business. Petr will focus on strategy and corporate development as Chief Strategy Officer and I will continue to focus on innovation, including AI, as Chief Innovation Officer. We will be reporting to Sophie, as will the rest of the leadership team. We look forward to working with Sophie to push the boundaries and grow faster.
We’re beyond excited about this new chapter for Lokalise. We have an amazing team of professionals and a strong team culture we built together. Our growth mindset to identify the right problems, make the right trade-offs, and keep learning, will no doubt help us grow Lokalise to the undisputed global leader in localization.

Nick is Chief Innovation Officer and former CEO of Lokalise. He’s a serial entrepreneur and was an early internet technology pioneer in Latvia when he founded and developed the first email service – inbox.lv in the late 1990s (which still exists today). While working on one of his recent ventures - Roamer App, he developed a backend to ease localization to different languages which proved to be a product with market demand on its own and later became Lokalise.
